Mecosta County Park Commission Employment

​The Mecosta County Park Commission has five year-round employees’ and hires approximately 50 seasonal employees each operating season.  If a full-time position becomes available at any time the job position will be advertised locally through newspaper public notice, social media and listed as a separate link on this page.

Seasonal Employment

Thank you for your interest in employment with the Mecosta County Parks! Seasonal positions typically run from mid April through early October. ​Potential employees are encouraged to apply for a specific position and park location that best suits their career goals and employment history.  

Seasonal employees earn the following perks in addition to wages:
  • One hour of paid-time-off for each week of 35 hours or more worked
Seasonal positions are available at the following parks:
  • Brower County Park: Stanwood, MI
  • School Section Lake Veteran's County Park: Mecosta, MI
  • Paris County Park: Paris, MI
  • Merrill-Gorrel County Park: Sears, MI

Management applications due by March 15.
​Positions available include:
  • Park Manager - available at all four parks; manages all functions of park operations and park staff; required to stay overnight in park 3-4 nights/week on call.
  • Office Manager - available at all four parks; manages office and retail operations and staff along with completing financial reconciliations; required to stay overnight in park 2-3 nights/week on call.
  • Building and Grounds Manager - available at School Section and Brower Park; manages facility and grounds operations and staff; required to stay overnight in park 2-3 nights/week on call.
Housing or seasonal campsite provided for all management positions.
Line-Level applications due by March 29.

  • Administrative Office Assistant
